Senior Android Developer - Search Engine (f/m/d) for fastest growing travel tech company

Your future crew

You will be joining the Native Apps team as an Android developer as part of the Search Department. Together with your team you will own product development on the Android platform and help deliver a performant app with great user experience.

Our Tech Stack

• Our Android app is written in Kotlin with parts of our architecture in MVI and MVVM. Our codebase is 75% in Kotlin!
• We use RxJava, Coroutines, Dagger/Hilt and other Jetpack libraries and are always evolving and improving the codebase.
• The backend of our Search Engine written in a microservice approach, using Java 11, with Spring Boot, running on Kubernetes.
• The frontend of our Search Engine is written in ReactJS.
• Data storage with Elasticsearch 7, PostgreSQL, Kafka, MongoDB, Redis.
• Heavy usage of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Git.
• Monitoring with Grafana and internally developed technologies.

Your role in this journey

• You will be part of the Native Apps team and will be working on our Android app.
• You will be developing new features and improving existing ones. Starting with proposal, through to implementation, monitoring and maintenance, you are expected to own the feature and orchestrate its execution.
• You are expected and encouraged to bring in your own ideas that you think could improve the product!
• You will work in a squad based organization alongside other Android and iOS Developers, Frontend Developers, Backend Developers, Designers and Product Managers. Together you are responsible for delivering the best possible product that offers a world-class UX.

Your backpack is filled with

• A degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of Android development experience.
• Deep understanding of the Android framework, Kotlin and Java programming languages.
• Familiarity with Modern Android development practices.
• Ideally have worked with or have a strong motivation to work with our Android tech stack (Kotlin, MVI, Dagger/Hilt, RxJava, Coroutines, Jetpack Navigation, Jetpack Compose etc.)
• Ability to work autonomously, data-driven and stay self-motivated.
• You should love coding and building world class products! We do and we hope you share our ambition!
